Couple more real quick

Hey all.

Haven't touched this thing in a while but thought I'd post up some (somewhat) new stuff quickly.

Quick doodles on the T.

Sketch of Adrian.

Character done entirely from my head. WIP obviously.

Sketch of my dad done May of 2008.

And one done this past July.

I'm also working on a portrait of Amanda and wiggling through the nitty gritty of photoshop's ways trying to do some digital work. Finished pieces to come! Maybe some animations soon too, the ones I'm doing now are pretty basic exercises so I'm gonna hold on until I do some noteworthy ones.

Massive Summer Sketch Dump

All I do are sketches these days so no recent finished pieces on here yet. (soon!) But here's most of the stuff I've been doing for the past 2 1/2 months:

Working on bridging the gap.

Some babes. Photo refs.

Dave and Amanda, the only people who can stay still when I draw them.

1st sketch session. Mishka, Allan, and Andrew. Just realized Mishka's ear should be lower. :/

Steffers and Amy.

My peppers, his shoes, and Andrea with no eyes! Also some other folks.

Skull at the taxidermy museum. Trying to get more comfortable with colored pencils.

Gestural sketches of Caitlin's finches and Amy with a cock. Had trouble positioning Andrew's head there.

Allan and Andrew. I keep making ears slightly too high or low on people.

Mike looks like Mike. Cole doesn't look like anyone. I swear I can't draw Cole for the life of me.

Friend of my cousins.

DORK.

A sifaka, a kind of monkey from the taxidermy museum.

Someone's foot!

Line work from the philippine eagle photo that I'll probably never finish and more bridging the gap. Face on the right side done with no reference.

Dave, Anthony, Caitlin, and sides of my face.

Finally a sketch from Monday night of Amy.

Posting pics on here is a HUGE pain in the ass. Think I might abandon the blogger scene soon
for a more practical updating journal.

Summer and old drawings

Summer is here and I'm in love with my new bike. It's a squeaky basterd, but considering I haven't had my own to ride in about oh....8 years it's nice to have a pair of wheels again.

Actually, it's not new at all. Due to lack of funds (see: none) I succumbed to taking my dad's old racer that's been sitting in our basement for over a decade. Hence the sqeaking. I refused to take it for so long because I wanted a mountain bike and I thought the racers looked "dorky and awkward." Then I realized, so am I.

Anyways, today I have a very special treat. I managed to rummage up 2 dozen or so old drawings of mine from elementary and middle school. Yeah, this is gonna be painful.
Let's start from the beginning shall we?

Oh shit, too far. Apparently I was a little Spanish boy.

Pretty sure this is the Adams' Family. Nice.

The Little Asperger's Boy.

Uh....yeeeeeaaaah.....

By age 7 I had already sold out.

Yeah, I don't know either, dog.

That one on the far right? Yeah, that's supposed to be a giraffe.

I was really into drawing aliens.

And robots.

And aliens.

Hahah, I didn't even like sports.

Great spelling, kiddo!

FML.

And of course, the best for last: a truly magnificent self portrait.

I like to think I got a little better since then:

From last year. Lips are a little wonky and shading could be better but overall I think it's my best self portrait, and one of my best pencil drawings. Pretty pleased with it.

So I stippled Thom Yorke:

Came out alright, but compared to most people's stipples that I've seen it's really flat. (the face anyways. The jacket came out good) Probably will go back in and darken up some things herr and therr.
